100NO 611: 104yo war veteran Joffre Bell

Episode Summary

At 104 years old, Joffre Bell is one of Australia’s oldest living World War II veterans. Born in 1920, Joffre has lived through monumental historical events, served in the Royal Australian Air Force during World War II, and spent much of his life in the small community of Clifton, just south of Toowoomba.

He’s a gifted mechanic, a passionate photographer, and a lifelong contributor to his community, from his decades of service with local organisations to his many adventurous pursuits, including traveling solo around Australia. Joffre is also a proud former student of The Southport School, where he holds the title of the school’s oldest living alumnus.

Today, Joffre has moved into the Carinity Brownesholme aged care community in Highfields, where we’re lucky enough to speak with him and learn more about his incredible life and experiences.

** Thanks to Lee & Jeannie and the team at Carinity for getting us in contact with Joffre.
